We are in Spring Cleaning mode! I have spent the last few weeks while Zac is out of town trying to de-clutter and get rid of stuff we don’t use. Some stuff is going on Craigslist, some will be given away, and most of it just thrown out. I am a semi-sentimental person, so it is hard to part with stuff I once felt was important, such as my box of wallet sized senior pictures…who knows what I was ever going to do with those?
Doesn’t it feel great to be organized and free of all that unused clutter?
I’ll let you know when I know.
New this week in the Adelyn department: She can fold her arms for a whole prayer. She used to only do it for a second, but I caught her doing it on Monday for the whole dinner prayer, and when the prayer was done, she unfolded her arms and said “Men!” (amen). I think she’s ready for nursery. I’m also trying to teach her the “Clean up” song so that she will be a good helper when nursery time comes. Only 7 more Sundays!
For a short period of time, Target is carrying a brand of cookie that almost fully defines my college experience. They are called Tim Tams, and are sold only in Australia. My friend Nicole, who is half Aussie, introduced these cookies to me freshman year of college. Together with my cocoamotion, we enjoyed Tim Tam Slams, which are only the most delicious way to enjoy these cookies. A new friendship and a new obsession were born simultaneously. Because we are not able to buy these cookies in the states, we had to come up with alternative cookies to try Slams with (chocolate covered Oreos and Keebler Grasshoppers work well). However, Target has made these little beauties available for a LIMITED time. I think until March. I have bought 3 boxes already, and am fighting the urge to buy more. Please, visit the cookie aisle at Target and try these for yourselves (they are packaged in a white Pepperidge Farms package, not the original brown Arnott’s kind)
Andrea and I have a Wii and we love to play Mario Kart. With a new baby we don’t get out too much, so when Adelyn goes down to bed at 8:00pm we often sit and play Mario Kart until we go to bed. Someone told me about this video and I thought it was pretty funny and worthy of a post.
Then I saw this one and thought is was funny as well.
I don’t speak French so I don’t know what he is saying, but I can not believe someone has the guts to do something like that. If you do speak French leave a comment with what the message at the end says.
This is pretty geeky, but I really enjoyed it. Andrea and I use Google docs for all sorts of things, but I have never tried to make art out it. Check out this video from the people at Google.
I was on NBC’s Olympics website today and saw an ad for two videos from this summers Olympic games. One was the highlights of the entire 2008 Olympic Games for $19.95. This DVD features numerous stories from the multiple venues and events including many gold medal performances. For only an additional 5 cents you could buy the Michael Phelps DVD. This DVD shows all 8 memorable races he competed in as well as special behind the scenes footage of his time in Beijing.
I guess NBC believes Phelps’ performance is not only equal to all the others combined; it is worth 5 cents more.
