We absolutely love being parents, and especially with our little firecracker, life is pretty fun right now. Addie is at a really fun age, and we are so grateful for her. She loves to explore everything, and especially loves putting things in her mouth. Paper, plastic bags, and tags (on toys) are her favorites. Obviously they are not my favorites, but she seems to really gravitate towards these things. I love her sweet petite features, her adorable little teeth (we still have only two), her hilarious laughs, her attempt at talking (a-da-da-da-da-da, a-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba, etc), and her slobbery kisses.
There is just one little thing that I wish I could change about her. She wakes up between 5:30 and 6:00am just about every day, all energized and ready for the day. I have tried many techniques to help her sleep in a little longer:
- putting her to bed early – 7pm
- putting her to bed later – 8pm
- feeding her a little more before bed the night before
- giving her a bath the night before
- going in to feed her as soon as she wakes up and putting her back down (which sometimes works, but I don’t want to create the night waking habit)
- letting her talk to herself in her crib for a while to see if she’ll go back to sleep, seeing as it is still dark outside and maybe she’ll think it is still night time (which, for some of us, it is)
Any suggestions from the other parents out there? Have you tried to help your kids sleep in later? Or do your kids all sleep until 7 or 8am?

I dont know. Kirsi’s wake time is between 6 and 6:30 also. It just seems like that is what it is for her. Let me know if you get any ideas

Sorry, no good suggestions here. I would trade you sleeping schedules/arrangements in a heartbeat! Aimee’s been waking up early too, anywhere from 5 – 6. I give her a bottle or “bobble” as she likes to call it. And she USUALLY goes back to sleep. Maybe she’s just hungry. Does she go back to sleep for you???
