Now it’s not 10:00 am and no baby. Andrea is doing great, making progress and feeling fine. She is at an 8 and 90%. They started a potocin drip and the contractions are very regular and close together. Now all we’re waiting for is a little more dilation and we should start pushing!
Well we decided to go to the hospital at midnight and honestly I thought they were going to send us home. However, at around 1am Andrea was at a 6 with regular contractions so they put us in lucky room number 7. The luck part is important, because incase you didn’t know today is Friday the 13th…
Andrea was being tough and doing well. Her doctor came in at 3:30th and broke her water and now the pain is on. At 4 she got the epidural so now it should be smooth sailing.
Hopefully Andrea can get some rest before she starts pushing.
One other fun fact at about 1:30 I walked out to the car and someone called my name but honestly I just assumed it was my sleep deprived mind going a little crazy. However, I wasn’t dreaming, our good friends Joel and Jen were here because their water broke too. So tonight has been full of excitement.
I’ll update you all as more develops, but go to bed, I know I want to!
We are still patiently awaiting the arrival of Baby Brother but have been doing lots of things to try and stay busy and invite him to leave Andrea’s tummy. I am typically a very doting husband, but lately I have been a real jerk, making Andrea do lots of work so she will have this baby.
We have been going on really long walks to help encourage Andrea into labor. So far it hasn’t worked, but we are still walking. One walk was so long I rigged this system to pull Addie’s bike behind me so she could work on her bike riding skills.

Going for long walks
On Monday we went to the Texas Rangers game to see Juli sing the National Anthem. She did a GREAT job, and yes, I made Andrea walk down the 50 ramps to get down from our seats. It was Addie’s first baseball game and she did great (Thank you peanuts).

Today I took some photos of Andrea so we could remember her belly. She is getting really big, but it is all right out front. If you look at her from behind you would have no idea she is pregnant. As always Andrea looks beautiful, but it is obvious she is miserable and ready to have this baby.

Andrea at 9 Months
Keep checking the blog, hopefully we have good news soon. She isn’t due until May 18, but she is dilated and going the right direction so fingers crossed it happens soon.
Today is the 10 year anniversary of our first date. I wish I could write that we had a great time and we spent tonight reliving our magical first date, but unfortunately it didn’t quite work out that way. On our first date we went out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant that no longer exists. Then we went to a terrible movie at the dollar theater, Unbreakable (remember the really strange movie with Bruce Willis and Samuel L Jackson that I think was about comic books, yes that one that was bad). Let’s just say that my first chance to take Andrea out on a date didn’t pan out the way I planned. However, lucky for me Andrea must not have thought that my date was too lame because she said yes the next time I asked her out and the rest is really history. We joke about how terrible our first date was, but honestly for me it was one of my favorites because I got to finally go out with a beautiful girl that I loved then and love even more today! Happy first date anniversary Andrea. I love you!
