Adelyn Eating Rice Cereal
Adelyn is now eating rice cereal. Well that is not entirely true, we are feeding her rice cereal but we don’t know if she actually eats any of it. Today Andrea went to my little sister’s bridal shower and left Adelyn and me at home. I got to feed the baby but she didn’t want to eat the formula I had for her so I had to try the rice cereal. The problem is I mixed the rice cereal with the formula she didn’t want and she figured it out so she only ate for a few minutes. But once she was done “eating” I took advantage of the opportunity and shot some pictures of her. One of the funniest things about Adelyn is she has a stuffed monkey that can get her to laugh all the time. So I held the monkey and shot photos of our messy faced baby. Hopefully she will start eating the cereal soon but even if more comes out of her mouth than goes in, she is so cute!
I told you Adelyn was rolling, and I finally got Zac to teach me how to upload videos, so now you can see for yourselves! At first she only rolled to the left, but now she can roll both ways, which I guess makes her an ambiturner (movie, anyone?)
Also, she loves her bouncer, and I love watching her swat at the little toys that hang down from it. Sometimes when she is fussy and nothing else seems to entertain her, the bouncy seat is just the thing to make her happy. And yes, it is in our bathtub.
What is it about a baby’s smile? How can it make you feel like you are on top of the world when you’re overtired, over stressed, haven’t showered, have no food in the house, have no clean clothes, haven’t done the dishes or the laundry, your house is a mess, your hair is a mess, and you have too little motivation to fix any of these things? To me, it is a gift from God that says, “Relax and enjoy this little one. Disregard the dirty dishes and clothes for a little while. They can wait. Watching your baby grow up happy and loved is the most important thing right now.” And I don’t even feel guilty.

Adelyn updates for the week:
1. She found her thumb!! After getting so frustrated for weeks that her ENTIRE fist doesn’t fit in her mouth, she finally found out how to suck her thumb. The only problem is, she hasn’t figured out how to close her fingers into a fist, so she just keeps jabbing herself in the eye and nose.
2. She rolled over! From back to front. She has done it once before, but yesterday, she did it everytime we put her down. So Exciting!! Now if she can figure out how to get from her tummy to her back again, that would make her even happier (she still doesn’t like to be on her tummy too long)
3. She is grabbing at toys! She watches them and grabs at them with both hands. And usually this can keep her busy for a while (meaning like, 5 minutes)
It is not a new phenomenon, any baby who is born with hair loses it sooner or later. However, the manner in which the baby loses its hair is so unfortunate. Especially for a girl.

Balding Baby
Luckily, her face is so darn cute!
