This is pretty geeky, but I really enjoyed it. Andrea and I use Google docs for all sorts of things, but I have never tried to make art out it. Check out this video from the people at Google.

Aahhh, I have barely started my Christmas shopping, and I find it very difficult to shop with a baby who eats every 3-4 hours and naps frequently. Hence, I am doing lots of my shopping online, and praying that everything will get here before Christmas. Plus we are leaving town a few days before Christmas to go to Broken Bow, so everything needs to be here, wrapped and transported to the cabin before the big day. I am excited for Adelyn’s first Christmas, even though she’ll have no idea what’s going on. She has a cute Christmas outfit, and I broke down and bought a Santa hat for her. Hopefully this creates a cute picture opportunity. Not that we need any excuse to take pictures of her. I’m sure we have a thousand already. Here are a few from the last week or so:
Life has a way of showing you that you are not really in control after all. This Christmas has been no exception for us. My grandfather passed away 5 days before Christmas, and although we had planned on going home, sleeping late and relaxing this Christmas, we whisked off to California on Christmas afternoon to attend his funeral and to spend a few days with Grandma and the rest of the family. Christmas at my Grandparent’s house is CRAZY (we have to open gifts in 3 shifts)! No wonder Zac has to escape to the den to get a release from the sheer size of my extended family. For me it is great because it’s all I know, but for some who are welcomed into our family, it is a bit overwhelming.
After our few days in California, we went to Broken Bow for a few days with the Taylors and had another Christmas! We got Austin the coolest bouncing Zebra. We think he liked it!
And my favorite present was……
Zac got to go golfing while we were there, and I got to relax and read. This is the definition of relaxing for us. The next week, we were able to attend my cousin’s wedding in California. It was not such a beautiful day, but it was a beautiful wedding and it was nice to gather as a family again, this time under happy circumstances. HOWEVER, the flight created a new experience for me that I have never had before. We were supposed to fly into Long Beach airport, but since the winds were too strong, they had to divert our plane. We ended up landing in Palm Springs, and taking a chartered BUS two hours to Long Beach airport. Thus, we missed the rehearsal dinner, and got into town 4 hours late. We were so mad. I would put up a picture of Zac’s mad face, but I think he’d be embarrassed. Nevertheless, we got there safely and got to take part in the celebration the next day. Thank you family for making this Christmas break so fun and for making us doubly excited to come back to Texas!
This weekend we went to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert, starring The King’s Singers! Kami and Matt came down from Logan and invited us to go with them and it was great! it was really fun, and we were awed by the organ solos (their foot pedalling was amazing) and the decorations. Afterwards, we tried to find a place to eat dessert, and since everything nearby was closed, we ended up walking around Temple Square and eventually down the street to the Gateway mall. My legs were frozen due to the 15 degree wintery night. But it was fun and we loved hanging out with Kami and Matt. Thanks guys!
Saturday we babysat for Geoff and Rebecca, and I got to see my husband enthralled with a Fischer Price train set for 2 hours. The boys liked it as well:)
Sunday we had Dan and Rachel over for dinner and a football game. We watched Tony Romo throw away a win as he tried to impress his newest celeb diva, Jessica Simpson. We think he should dump her. Ooh, and Dan and Rachel brought over these cookies that were really good. I recommend them. They are Nestle Toll house Turtle cookies. Chocolate chip, caramel goodness in a cookie. Loved it!
This week we are getting ready to go home for Christmas break, so we have to start un-decorating our tree:( and packing to go home. But we are EXCITED!!! Texas and 65 degree weather, here we come!
So Andrea took the Photoshop class from BYU and loved it. She has been playing around with Photoshop ever since. I think it is neat because Photoshop skills are a thing that you can always use. And if she can compensate for our poor photography skills that is great all in itself.
It is that time of year again when everyone is trying to send out a Christmas card as a year in review. It is a difficult job to find a good photo of the whole family. This year, Andrea took on the job of making my families Christmas card. She touched up all the photos, and made us all look better. Take a look and let us know what you think about Andrea’s first Photoshop Christmas Card.
