Yep, I am a person. I am not just Addie’s Mom. Sometimes it is good to remind myself of this. There are things in my life that do not completely revolve around her. Although I really like the parts that do revolve around her (besides the yucky parts, which we will not discuss here. But let’s just say last night was a yucky one).
First and foremost. I am now glasses FREE. Can you believe it? Have you ever known me without glasses? Anyone? If you did, you just knew me during the two short stints of wearing contacts (hard contacts, ouch). My awesome parents and my amazing husband decided to gift me with LASIK surgery for my birthday this year, and I am so grateful! I visited multiple doctors, and decided to go here. I absolutely loved the doctors, and the experience was very comfortable and non-scary. The procedure took less than 15 minutes, and I was out the door. The recovery hasn’t been too bad (a little pain the first day, some blurry vision for a day or so, some bloodshot eyes and no makeup allowed for 5 days). And no, I didn’t get 20/20 vision right away, but apparently it is normal for your eyes to continue to get better over the next few weeks. So hopefully by the end of April, I will get there.
Oh, and the most exciting part of this so far, is that I can wear normal sunglasses! Yay for no more prescription sunglasses!
I have also been trying to work out more. Thanks to the encouragement of a few friends (you know who you are), the YMCA is slowly making its way into my morning routine. Adelyn hated going to the child care place at first, which honestly made it hard for me to go back. I just can’t stand to make my little girl cry. But she is getting used to it pretty fast, and now screams very little when I drop her off there. I think she realized that they have Elmo videos. Elmo is seriously a life-saver sometimes. And plus, swimsuit season is coming up, and I think I am allowed to try to look good in a swimsuit! BTW it’s 80 degrees here already.
