A Broken Bow Fourth

We spent the fourth of July holiday at the Taylor cabin in Oklahoma. It is so nice to get away sometimes, so we love that they have a place just a few hours away with lots of fun things to do.  With a nursing newborn, I have felt a little cooped up in the house, so it was a nice change of scenery for me:)

This was Addie’s first time to waterski! She was a great sport and tried it two times, although falling was a little traumatic for her. After that she just swam, but maybe next time she’ll try again. She did a great job and we were all so proud of her!

We also got to see our newest cousin Kaiden. Jessi and Erik drove out from Florida to be with us this weekend, and it was cute to see Kaiden and Nolan together. They are so close in age, they could be twins! Except there is a huge difference in how a 3 month old interacts (laughing and smiling all the time – Kaiden) and a 7 week old (maybe a hint of a smile now and then – Nolan).

Addie LOVED spending time with her cousins, as always, and learned how to roast her own marshmallows and make a smore. Grandma is a master marshmallow maker, so we got to have them a few nights in a row:)

We didn’t take the kids to a real fireworks show, but we did get some firecrackers and set them off in the fire pit outside the house. I love the reaction the kids had. They were all worried about how loud it was going to be, so they all covered their ears. Check out the expression on the 2 year olds faces as the firecrackers go off. So funny!

Funny Crown

A few days ago Andrea was playing with Addie and Addie had found the lens hood from our camera. Addie was wearing it as a crown and when it fell off her head Andrea laughed a little and then this game started…

Videos from Kauai

When we were on Kauai, we went to this little burger joint in the Poipu shopping village called Poipu Tropical Burgers. The food was great and both times we went there was some live entertainment that Addie enjoyed. One time she even went up front to be the guitar player’s little hula girl.

Addie love playing on the beach and building sand castles. Too bad she thought throwing the sand at the bucket was the best way.

Our hotel had a water slide that Addie enjoyed. She wouldn’t do it unless we were going with her, but as you can see from the video she always wanted to go again.

Homecoming 2010

Last night we went to the Coppell High School Homecoming Game with our friends the Brights. My mom makes mums for high school students and wanted to make a mum for Addie and a garter for her “date” Bode. When we got to the game Addie and Bode held hands while walking to the stadium and all of the ladies we passed thought they were the cutest kids ever.

Once we got seated the compliments didn’t stop, but the kids got ready by putting their guns up for the kickoff and cheering like everyone else.

Once the Cowboys scored, which they did a lot, the kids kept their school spirit alive by clapping during the fight song.

It was a fun night and we were glad we could spend it with friends. Final score Coppell Cowboys 52, Dallas Jesuit 7.
